#Half life 2 episode 2 full

The majority of the game is to get to the White Forest base with not much going on. However, much of the story is rather light, only big things happening at the beginning and end of the game aside from two things in the middle. The story at this point seems to be going blindly into one direction as the latter half of the story at the Rebel Base is filled with technical jargon about a ship that is dangerous. While the length is much bigger (I beat the game at around 3 Hours so there's more content than Episode One) I don't feel like Valve at least to me has done a good job at making us care about the story. My main issue with the game however revolves around the story. The game adds a couple of new enemies as well from Acid Antlions to Hunters and the new gameplay ideas like the Magnusson device in the climax of the game do make for some interesting moments of gameplay. Alyx also isn't annoying at all in this game and the moments where you and her are fighting off Hunters and fending off Combine are still fun thanks to her competent AI. One of the best course corrections is it's darker, more mature tone than Episode One, which is such a welcome change as I wanted the tone in the last game to be WAY more serious. It's filled with the same solid gameplay of the previous two entries and does do a lot to keep that gameplay fresh without again adding any new weapons to the mix, which is honestly quite impressive when you consider it. I'm not saying by any means Half-Life 2: Episode Two is a bad game as it really isn't. Other than the ending, it's really good, and that's what makes me really frustrated, and probably what made other people frustrated too for the last 15 years.ģh 8m Played Unfortunately, I feel as the Half-Life 2 story continued on, I felt less and less compelled by the actual events going on in the story. But knowing that Valve won't make the closure for the cliffhanger ending at least for a few more years, it's hard to leave Episode 2 with a good aftertaste. It's amazing that Valve could make such intense battles without relying on cutscenes and special effects. My highlights were the Antlion defense and the final battle sequence with the Magnusson device.

I loved every single minute of the playthrough. It didn't feel like it was a rehash of the original game, just like Episode 1 was- it felt like it was the next step, a promising future of what could be Half-Life 3. They made many interesting new enemies and introduced them in great ways. It has suffocating corridor fights to semi-open-world buggy car sections.

Episode 2 has full of good sequences, in terms of both adventure and combat. 4h PlayedNow I understand why people got so mad about Valve delaying Episode 3- because Episode 2 was so good.
